Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream

Haagen Dazs was founded in 1961 in the Bronx. Although the name sounds Scandinavian it is actually gibberish. The words don't mean anything in any known language. The letter combinations (and the two funny dots over the "a") are a combination of various letter combinations from different European countries. Haagen Dazs is sold under license by Nestle. I have never been a big fan of Nestle Chocolate, preferring Hershey's and Cadbury's by a Country Mile.

Haagen Dazs sells a Premium Ice Cream which is very dense. Using a very limited list of ingredients including Cream, Skim Milk, Sugar, Egg Yolks and Cocoa Processed with Alkali, you can see the level of quality that comprises this product. When you dig your spoon into a tub of Haagen Dazs you will find that it is much harder to work your spoon into the thick ice cream than it's cheaper counterparts. As you bring the dense spoonful of chocolate ice cream up to your mouth, the cold ice cream quickly melts into a smooth creamy decadent treat. Although Nestle licenses this product, the chocolate is not a Nestle chocolate...it is a rich chocolate that has a very full flavor. The quality of the cream and the chocolate are evident in every bite.
